Welcome to the "Country Ballad Solo III" lesson. This lesson is based on the rhythm track of the previous lesson, "Hybrid Picking Classic Country." It also pulls heavily from concepts taught in "Mastering the Fretboard: Diatonic Arpeggios." This one has lots of fun twangy tricks like: behind-the-nut bends, tone control swells, and Jim Campilongo style throaty open chords. I'm using a hybrid picking style for this lesson for if you are not familiar with the technique I recommend starting with some of my picking specific videos, especially "Hybrid Picking Country Licks I and II." I'm using my typical country twang tone for this one. I'm using the bridge pickup on the Tele into a compressor with a warm tape-style delay in an overdriven amp with a good amount of spring reverb.
