  • The "Bakersfield Country" lesson is inspired by some of the main influences on my paling style, Buck Owens and his guitar player Don Rich. This sound is identified by genesis in Bakersfield, California. It's deep and twangy. I'm using a pretty clean tone on the bridge pickup of the tele and for this lesson to add to the throaty twang I'm tuned to Drop D.
