  • Welcome to the "Fast Country Boogie" lesson! This is uptempo chicken picking piece is inspired by the playing of Nashville great, Brent Mason. Style-wise we will harness all the power of chicken picking with hybrid picking, staccato playing, palm mutes, double-stops, a string pop and even a tone control swell. The tone is all about twang. I'm using the bridge pickup on my tele which is the most classic way to achieve this sound. I am also using a compressor to give it more attack, a digital slapback delay, an overdriven amp and some spring reverb. Enjoy!
