  • Hi! Here is my first lesson on the big screen :) This time I have a boogie for you.

Boogie is like a faster rock and roll style played in a triplet feel. Here I used combination of major/minor pentatonic scales and some mixolydian lines. There are also some blues (b5) notes included and some passing chromatic notes. I used both alternate and sweep picking technique. Sweep I used over G7 and D7 arpeggios.

There are some hybrid picked double stops as well. I wrote in the slow video parts when those are picked that way. Pluck those with the 2nd and the 3rd finger of your right hand if you find it easier to play that way. It is not wrong if you pick that with the plectrum but combination with hybrid picking sounds more interesting. There are some cool rock/bluesy chops for you to steal and use anytime you find it useful in your improvisation.

    Have fun :)
