Bending is a playing technique which is performed by pulling a string up or pushing it down with a finger/s of the fretting hand while keeping the string in contact with the frets. Bending produces a higher pitch. The intensity of the bend will define the pitch of the note. This is an important technique that will unlock your lead improvisation skills. When practising, concentrate on hitting the right pitch and being in tune.
