  • Hello, GMC!

    Here's a lesson, devoted to progressive metal riffs and solos!

    This time we'll take a look on :

    * Non-standard tuning : It's B A D G B E - a quick way to make your guitar sound low and heavy.
    * Complex rhythmic structures : switching between 16th and 16th triplets, rhythmic shifts, syncopation.
    * Whammy bar pre-diving : a simple and cool technique.
    * A couple of Slides, Bends, Legato, Alternate Picking and Vibrato in a mixed technique soloing.

    Sound :
    I use my Suhr Standard Custom guitar with Doug Aldrich Humbucker in bridge position, Gibson Les Paul Studio '84 with 57' Classic Humbuckers and Fractal Audio Axe FX Standard straight into TC Electronic Impact Twin.
    Rhythm preset is based on Energyball (ENGL Powerball) amp model with custom cabinet.
    Lead preset is based on FAS Lead 2 amp model with 4x12 Recto1 cabinet model.

    Tempo/meter : 80 bpm, 4/4

    Tonality : B minor

    Good luck!
