Welcome to my new lesson!! In this one I’ll share with you a solo that I’ve composed for a competition organized by the brand Kiesel. The funny side is that I didn’t have the time to make the video and participate in this one.
I found this solo in my back-ups and I thought that it's a really cool tune to share some modern progressive soloing approaches in the style of artists like Intervals, Plini, Polyphia’s first albums and many others.
I re-recorded the backing track and my solo for this one using some new software from Neural DSP (Archetype Plini), GGD (Modern & Massive) for drums and …. for Bass. Download all my Neural DSP’s presets HERE.
The chord progression keeps looping these 3 chords: Gsus2 | Bm | A
The solo is in G Lydian mode, and the techniques used here are alternate picking, bending, slides, vibrato, legato and sweep picking. The note choices and the way to play each lick are essential to get these tasty sounding ideas. We’ll explore them in the slow video parts.
