The "Hybrid Picking Triple Stop Etude" lesson begins to develop a chicken picking style alternating picking style approach using 4 strings per pattern. The key is string sustain control in both the left and right hands. The left hand controls the sustain of the fretted triple stops while the right hand palm mutes the open string "bass" notes. The picking style is to use the pick between to thumb and first finger to play the "bass" notes while the open fingers grab the triple stops. The tone is snappy. I am utilizing a compressor and overdrive pedals along with a Strat on the bridge and middle pickups.
