  • The "Danny Boy Country Style" lesson explores a popular Irish folk song with a twist. The lesson was inspired by a performance of Johnny Cash covering the song. While the basic melody is still there we rethink the chord progression a bit and add in some country inflection. The tone is really twangy. I recommend playing on the bridge pickup and picking as close to the bridge as possible. The tone is also pretty wet with just a little drive. So crank up the amp and the reverb. The picking style switches from using the pick for the A section to a hybrid style for the B section. The notes and rhythms aren't too challenging, but always remember to play in the style!
