  • The "Chicking Picking Chicken Reel" lesson is a take on an early 20th century fiddle classic and why not? A song like "Chicken Reel" is just screaming for some chicken picking twang. We trade the fiddle bow intro for a twangy bend. The style is top importance here. The tone is twangy. We're looking for a lightly overdriven, bridge pickup with a little slapback delay. The arrangement contains a A and B section. We play both sections twice.

    Key: D
    Chords: D, A
    Time Signature: 2/4
    BPM: 100

Gear: Partscaster Tele (bridge pickup)>Wampler Ego Compressor>Wampler Clarksdale Overdrive>TC Electronic Alter Ego X4>Vox AC15>Sennheiser e906>Presonus>Ableton Live

Scales: There are no scales used per se but if you are looking to solo over the B section try these:

    D Pentatonic Scale
    D PENTATONIC MAJOR SCALE

    D Major Scale

    D Mixolydian Mode
