Woaaaw, I am fan. That's music. Great work. I love your compositions.
Going to learn it. But need some few years to master it.
Great climax man, awesome coverage on this essential topic!

WOW! "Climax in a solo" *drools*. There is simply nothing as cool as an epic buildup. Emir, this is now my new favorite lesson!
Brilliant idea for a lesson!

Thanks people
this is awesome!!
Awesome solo, and performance Emir
My favorite way of composings solos also. Well maybe I don't use it to often, as I could only play the sad part, but this is what I loved about some artists You mentioned:) Great lesson:)
As usual, simply amazing, but it means more work for me with another lession. lol
That's a truly awesome solo Emir! Loved it, can't stop hitting that play button! Great job!!
Great solo Emir! The last part is amazing!
Awesome solo!!!
Great lesson and solo Emir, very useful for all members!
what a good idea for a lesson and very good comp
Very nice solo Emir, as I've told you already
Thanks Emir Well, then very important are imagination and very good pitch and of course skills, which allow to deliver the music how you want. I`ll go listen to Europe
Oh my God ! That climax truly was unexpected, Emir !
I found the whole progression extremely well made, and that insane shredding part just before the end blew my mind !
You rock !
Epic finish, Emir. You engage with the instrument, rather than just hold it. Very cool to watch and listen to.
Really inspiring and pleasant to watch, and listen to it! That "move" from fast shredding to that tasty bend was incredible! Can You point me on some material (books\or maybe some instructional dvd`s) which can give me deep theory base, to create music like that in future?
This was very effective! Climax part was really breathtaking...
Great job Emir! That really built tension then released it nicely..
Brilliant lesson Emir I like the Climax idea, very crucial for a good solo... I have noticed this concept in your Rock Ballad Lesson also!
Thanks
Great Emir!, reminded me of Scorpions
One of the best compositions I've heard, you rock man
amazing Emir!
great melody, great playing
Super composed solo and very original chord progression too. Excelent!!!
That was great! Keep it up.
Excellent work, Maestro!
Thank you Kristofer. I find that "climax" thing really essential when arranging music in general.
What a masterpiece Emir! =) And yes, to me building climax is one of the coolest things you can do with music.
Hi
This time I would like to introduce you my favorite approach when composing a solo. The principle is very simple. You start slowly and building up the atmosphere bar by bar. What is interesting here is that I like to "shock" the listener with some unexpected part. Half way through the solo I switch to an "explosion" of lick and fast lines played really agressively. That part can be treated like a whole separate section where again I start with longer notes and towards the end I have a very fast line which I call "climax in a solo". The whole solo is like one story that has 2 different sections. To me every solo is like a singing on the guitar. I always tend to make melodies like it was done by a singer. That way I am trying not sound boring with some usual and repetitive patterns but rather creating something which is nice for the ear and always keeping the listener interested in what's coming next.
Technically you should be able to control long notes very carefuly with a wide and long vibrato. There are a couple of moments where I use pickup switch to color the sound acording to the song atmosphere. I start the song with the neck pickup position. When I start the 2nd section I play on the bridge position and just before the fastest run I switch back to neck position to get the smoother and warmer sound instead of keeping it agressive all the time. Many things to think of in just 1 minute of soloing but that's what makes a real challenge.
This solo is mainly in D minor (aeolian) scale. A couple of times I have E7 diminished notes and once D dorian #4 and A phrygian dominat note. These are played just once for less than a second so I didn't include the scale chart for that. D minor is your base and you should only think that mode throughout the whole piece.
I hope you can get some useful licks from here and see you soon with some different style.
