Mary had a little lamb..... Awesome mate, just awesome.. I'm currently learning the original, so this will come in handy, thanks
Thank you guys! yeah! I get inspiration from many of his songs!!
DUDE! HEnry.. I was just about to say that!!!
Nice 1 Gabe, I'm hearing Mary had a little lamb. You really captured SRV
Amazing Gabriel! Sounds like SRV's Scuttle Buttin' to me! Great!
awesome gabe
nice job!!!
fantastic lesson Gaby
Nice man! Cool and easy to play with some practice
Sup Gabriel,
I've been practicing this lesson for awhile and I have trouble getting the timing down on the hammer on and pull off in video 3.
Any suggestions?
Ryan
May i ask something? Why is on every Blues scale diagram, BLUES note actually called "BLUE" note?? I just don't get it! Is it me being stupid or is it some kind of mistake? Thanks for ANY answer!
And yeah, nice lesson Gab!
exciting !
yes it's fantastic ... but it seems to me that the 100bpm backing track is broken at the beginning, ain't it?
nice love the lick.
@shellshock1911 - that chord is an E7#9 (or E7+9, means the same), consists of root, 3rd, 5th, dominant 7th, and augmented 9th - a great favourite of Hendrix, also used by Gilmour in shine on you crazy diamond
what is the name of that chord that is often used in this, it's also used in Purple Haze???
yeah!! That's true! I use to play this kind of licks in my acoustic guitar all the time.
Love it! Just like Mary had a little lamb! MORE MORE MORE!
This sounds real good on an acoustic with more bouncy pull offs. Kinda SRV Delta blusey. g
It's great to hear your nice comments!!! Thenk you very much. I also like this lesson too much!! jej

Spent about an hour practising this tonight. That's more guitar practice than i've done in, ohhh, a year?
The motivation came from hearing you play. Thanks.
these lessons seriously rock
nothing better than some serious blues/rock guitar
NOTHING
more of these kinda lessons please ! rythm/solo in one piece , awesome!
Wow, that sounds awesome!! Thanks for the great lesson and I can't wait to get these licks down (hopefully I'll be able to get them up to speed). Thanks again!
Are you going to produce next lessons in this style? This one is done - so, don't let me waint too long!
Actually, this is relatively easy. Just takes repitition (aka practice) g
great edgor67!! Nice project for summer!
Keep on practicing!
Gabriel,
I got the blues bad. Blues 1 & 2 I'm getting down slowly but fer sure. I have to go on travel for a week and then I'll look at Blues 3. The blues will be my summer project. Who knows maybe I can get a gig at Whole Foods supermarket! (Chuckle) g
lol, well i got a Gibson melody maker
hmmmmmm.....let me think about that one....what kinda of guitar do you have ha ha ha ha
I'll adopt you, only if you pay rent.
oh i forgot to mention i suck at guitar as well.
are you still interested?
jaja.. a young rocker dad! It would be extrange but amazing!
Can you imagine a 19 years old dad, practicing guitar all day and living with his parents?? hahahaha
i already have and he said no looks like i cant have a dad who can play kick ass guitar....DAMN
Faithfully: Ask Pavel instead!!
jajajaja... Faithfullly... it isn't a good idea, I wouldn't be a good father nowadays... I'm making music all the time!!
Gustavo: Podes empezar con las lecciones de blues 1 y 2 que son más fáciles.
awsome
its difficult for me
XD
Hey Gabriel i was asking if you would want to adopt me.LOL
I love it ! I won't shave before i can play this lick !
Thank you Flyboy! I will ask Kris about the backing and I promise more Blues lessons!
Thank you ch00ch00man! You can find only original music lessons here but there are a lot of guitar tab round the web!
cistec: I have never changed the original Gibson Les Paul Studio pick ups (Humbuckers). I use for this lessons my old Marshall Valvestate amp mod 8080-+
FaithfullyForgotten: Thank you! I couldn't undertand your question. Who or what do you want me to adopt?
gabriel.-
Hey Gabriel you know the the truth your F@#$%^& great at this blues stuff man keep it up, you wouldnt by any chance want to adopt anyone would ya?
Gabriel, this is an incredibly awesome lesson!!! Very inspiring! Its just a little bit out of my reach, which is exactly what I need. By extending myself, and forcing myself to practice it over and over, I feel I'm getting it. 'Marry had a little lamb' is one of my favorite SRV songs, very hooky. Any chance you can do a series of lessons on the whole song, I'd love to learn the whole thing, and not just a short riff? Thanks in advance.
Hi Gabriel
What pick ups on your Les Axe? and what are you using for dist/FX? Love your lessons just a little advanced at the moment.
Gabriel,
Blues 3 was just as much fun as blues 2. A little like Mary had a little lamb. GREAT stuff!!! Any chance of blues 4 having some double stops and a few triplets? Those are both something I need work on. Also, would it be possible to get the backing tracks on a downloadable Mp3 file? I would like to put them on my GNX4 and set them up on a loop.
Thanks again, Your lessons have inspired to be the best I can be! And in my best Austin Powers voice..... Blues 4, yes please.
Fixed!
flyboy: I felt very happy when I read your comment!!
Thank you all of you guys!!
Gabriel'
thanks for the great lesons. At my skill level this is just what I need. SRV with a little theory on the side... Perfect. Your lessons have inspired me to play for 2+ hrs a day. Keep em comming
Yeah! Gibson Les Paul rocks!!+
betschart: I use the standard 09 GK strings (made in Argentina).
Gabriel.-
pd: Thank you brainlesswonder! I will correct it.
Yeah, love the blues licks...as an itermediate guitarist the speed licks are awesome and motivational to learn, however these blues licks aren't too hard to learn and sound absolutel awesome.
By the way you have convinced me to buy a les paul when i can afford it! Keep it up Gabriel!!!
Not a big deal but the tab is off a note here in the fourth Video.

This lesson forced me to dust off my Les Paul and take it to the shop for some work. I'd switched entirely to strats for a few years... but this guilted me into digging that baby back out.
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THIS IS BY FAR THE COLLEST LESSON ON THIS SITE (for me that is)
I really do appreciate you taking time out of your speed lessons to give us some blues licks. always helps us beginners stay motivated to be able to take a break from speed and just have some fun with some awesome blues licks. Keep it up!!!!!!
BTW, I'm just wondering - what gauge strings do you use for your LP?
Gabe, you're awesome.
YES AWESOME LESSON!!!!! We need more of this kind of lessons
Hey, I am pretty internet savvy, but now that you have removed blues lesson 2 from the main page how do I easily navigate to blues lesson 1 and 2? I love the site but I have a hard time finding things once I have seen them and want to go back to it. Am I missing some kind of site map somewhere?
The infamous E7#9.
No i get the warm feeling as well, it happens when you hear a bunch of kick ass licks.
I'm I the only one who gets this warm feeling inside?
i am teribely sorry it is E. not dm7 my bad.
First of all. Gabriel i appriciate what you are doing because you are a speed demon but in this lessons it looks like this is where you grow up and you feel it!!!
second i would like to add that you stroke on the Dm7 cause D it is the 7'th of E chord .
well done
Darn, im not the most blue's oreintated guy you will meet, but that was just awesome! keep up the good work.
AAAAAWESOME!! Got no words, awesome, just totally awesome! Cant wait to try this. PLEASE let there be a Blues licks 4, 5, 6, 7 etc. etc.!!
