  • Hello again! :D And welcome to my new lesson titled "Groove Rock - Phrasing (finger-picking)". In this lesson you will learn a more-less intermediate solo which will help you to better understand phrasing and apply it in your soloing.

    A finger-picking technique is highly suggested in this lesson, but if you prefer to use regular picking, then go for it.

    Now, in this lesson I would like to concentrate on your phrasing, especially playing dotted note durations, or more common - 'shuffle phrasing'.

    A metronome or a backing track is highly recommended while practicing this solo. This is because, it will help you to hear and play the right note durations.

    And finally, you should also concentrate on bending. Try to be precise, to quickly find the right pitch. Depending on your playing abilities, try to make the solo sound as best as possible, or in other words, it is not enough just to play the right notes, you must also add the right 'feel' to them.

    The chord progression is:

    - D minor 7;
    - C major;
    - D minor 7;
    - F major;
    - G major;
    - D minor 7.

    The key is: D minor;
    The time signature is: 4/4;
    The tempo is: 100 BPM;
    The tuning is: DADGBE.

    I hope you will benefit from this lesson.

    Have fun! :)
