Hi GMC!
In this lesson we gonna learn some Bebop licks over a II V I progression.
The key is Bb Major, and the chords are :
I C-7 I F7alt I Bb7M I % I
Over C-7 and Bb7M we gonna play the Bb Major Scale and arpeggios from the scale.
Over the F7 altered chord we gonna use the F altered scale / Gb melodic minor scale to add some tensions in our lines and makes things more interesting.
I also use lot of chromaticisms and passing tones - which are big characteristics in this style of music.
Hope these licks will help you to improve your musical vocabulary.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask!
Good practice!
