  • Welcome to my new lesson!

This time we will be learning how to shift around in the Minor Pentatonic scale in the style of Zakk Wylde.

"Zakk Wylde (born Jeffrey Phillip Wielandt, January 14, 1967), is an American musician, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and occasional actor who is best known as the former guitarist for Ozzy Osbourne, and founder of the heavy metal band Black Label Society." - Wikipedia

Zakk is incredibly proficient at using the Pentatonic scale for blistering runs that not only make use of the standard 1st box position but that also move along the neck in a lateral motion.

If you can learn to utilise the scale in that way you will be able to link it up with other modes and you won't need to feel limited by 1 box position any more.

Not only will this lesson improve your ability to use the Pentatonic scale across the neck but it also acts as a terrific stamina builder and picking exercise.

    This lesson will improve:

    -Pentatonic Scale Knowledge
    -Stamina
    -Alternate picking
-Options for phrasing with the Pentatonic Scale

So, now you know what you're dealing with it's time to get Wylde!
