  • Hi GMC! In this lesson we will continue working on the Southern Metal style of bands like Black Stone Cherry, Black Label Society and Pride &Glory but this time we combine it with other rocker bands with a Stoner Influence like Corrosion of Conformity, Spiritual Beggars and Down.
I noted that many of you really enjoyed my Black Stone Cherry style lesson but I haven’t found the lesson in the REC program! I decided to do an easier lesson because I’m interested in seeing how you learn and incorporate my lessons.
The lesson starts with a rocker riff composed with D Pentatonic minor scale and then a solo played over the riff where I combine D pentatonic minor with D blues scale.

    Techniques:
    Alternate Picking
    Legato
    Bending
    Chicken picking
    Vibrato
    Pinched harmonics

    Scales:
    D Pentatonic minor
    D blues scale

    Tuning:
    Dropped D (D-A-D-G-B-E)

    Ok guys! Let’s start working!

    Gabriel.

PS: If you liked this lesson I suggest you to check Spiritual Beggars “Ad Astra” album and C.O.C’s “Deliverance”.

    D Pentatonic minor:
