  • Hi GMC!

Welcome to my new lesson which pays tribute to the late, great Randy Rhoads. He co founded the band Quiet Riot and was making a name for himself on the LA music scene but he really came to the world's attention when he became the lead guitarist for Ozzy Osbourne, playing on the first 2 studio albums, 'Blizzard of Ozz' and 'Diary of a Madman'. Randy tragically died in an aeroplane crash in 1982 during the tour supporting 'Diary of a Madman'. A recording of a live Ozzy Osbourne show was released after his death in 1987, titled 'Tribute' giving fans just a bit more of a glimpse into Randy's playing and what he was capable of, although we can only speculate on what amazing music he would have gone on to produce. So, with respect and honour, let us pick up our guitars in tribute to this fallen hero.

I've referenced some classic Ozzy tracks here (see if you can spot them) and have included some riffs as well as a solo.

    This lesson will work on:

    - Riffing
    - Chord shifting
    - Picking
    - Playing triads
    - Legato
    - Phrasing

This definitely stands proud as one of my favourite lessons that I've made. I hope you feel the same way about it too. Enjoy!

    Tempo: 120bpm

Gear: Poulin Legion plugin & God's Cab plugin. A healthy dose of chorus on the main lead guitar.

    Key: Am
