    In this lesson, we will analyze the playing style of one of the world's most famous metalcore bands - Killswitch Engage! They have inspired a lot of other bands with their combination of thrash rhythms and huge anthemic choruses which blend together seamlessly!

    Check out their most well known albums: 'The end of heartache' and 'As daylight dies' for a very clear idea about what Killswitch Engage really means and also, their live DVD (it's only one so you can't miss it) will prove to be an awesome experience: a pure cauldron of adrenaline and powerhouse music.

    This lesson will help you develop:

    - combining two different pulses obtained by playing 16th notes and then 8th note triplets over a 4/4 time signature
    - alternate picking
    - rhythm and riffing
    - understanding Killswitch Engage's playing style

    Tuning: Drop C - C G C F A D

    Meter: 4/4

    Tempo: 100 BPM

    Scales: G minor

    Tone settings:

    Riff and lead - Bass – 10 o’clock, Mids – 9 o’clock, Highs – 2 o’clock, Gain – 2 o’clock, using the lead channel of my AMT ss20 Pre-amp, software added compression and keeping my PRS Paul Allender's pick-up switch in the bridge position.
