  • Hi GMCers! Welcome to my new heavy metal riffing lesson. This time we will be playing some cool heavy metal riffing with 4/4 time signature. This has a constantly changing feel which we will play against a cool funky backing track.

    Tuning:
    *Standard E
    * E - A - D - G - B - E
    (From thick to thin)

    Techniques:
    * Palm Muting
    * Speed picking
    * Octaves
    * Riffing

    Equipment:
    * US Fender Telecaster 1981 Limited Edition, position 1
    * Focusrite OctoPre MKII preamp/converter into EMU1212m card
    * Peavey ReValver MKIII Software Modeller, Peavey 6505+ emulation
