  • Hi there folks!

Welcome on my first lesson - hope You'll enjoy it!

Here You can learn how to combine some of metal and funky concepts in one solo, try some palm muted alternate picking 16th notes licks at 200 bpm tempo (some of Paul Gilbert and Nuno Bettencourt influence indeed). Solo also contains tapping parts, pinch harmonics and some legato.

When practicing remember to keep everything as clean as possible. Sometimes it's much harder to mute all unwanted strings, than just picking the needed notes. Minimizing your right and left hand movements won't make Your playing look so awesome but it improves skills and keeps hands more relaxed while playing.

    Gear used:

    * Hufschmid H6E "The Dragon" electric guitar
    * Presonus Inspire 1394 audio interface
    * Poulin Solo C vst plug-in with catharsis 1on-pres5 cab impulse for solo guitar
    * Poulin LeCto vst plug-in with catharsis 1on-pres5 cab impulse for backing guitars
    * Ernie Ball 10-46 slinky strings with standard E tuning.

    Tuning: standard tuning E-A-D-G-B-E

Backing track progression is based on two patterns:

    1. Verse pattern is a E-minor pentatonic with a few notes of E-mixolydian in solo section
    2. Chorus pattern in based on E phrygian dominant

There are two simple licks that make the groove. It's not a kind of harmony made by the track itself.

Tempo: Main song tempo is 200 bpm. There are also backing tracks available in 100, 125, 150, 175 and 200 bpm.

    Time signature: 4/4
