  • Welcome to my new funk fusion lesson!

To this backing we use not only the usual scales ( A pentatonic, A blues pentatonic, A minor ), but we use A mixolydian and A harmonic minor to the same chords as well. We’ll see that the difference is only one or two notes but stil it’ll give me a more interesting sound, if we use these notes.

The lesson begins with some slided notes. In this part an A minor and an A blues pentatonic are combined and at the end of the scale on the E1 string there is an extra notes, which belongs to an A mixolydian scale. The next two part we use the same A blues pentatonic scale in first and second mode, but we close this part with an A harmonic minor.

At the end of the solo we are in the third mode of the A blues pentatonic , but there are some chromatic notes on some places.
