Yeah, I basically use it anytime but on the acoustic guitar. When I play my acoustic guitar, I prefer using a 1.0 mm pick, such as the Dunlop Tortex.

In my case the pick makes a huge difference. I checked some of the chicken picks models, and all of them make a very good "funk guitar tone" in my opinion. Much high frequency and sharp attack, they sound great! I like the Bermuda III 2,1 and the shredder 3.5 best.
Wow, I never thought that I would find better picks than the "pickboy 100" that I usually use, but the chicken picks are way better. Bare in mind that at higher tempos there is no real time for the ear to catch those unwanted harmonics, and for most part what the listener hears is just the percussive part.

Hey man! Thanks for your comment! The efficiency of your ghost notes can be related to many aspects. In my opinion, it's important to set up your instrument properly and calibrate it depending on how strong you hit strings. Also, choose an appropriate string action and select the right pick.
I found my sweetspot using a chicken pick "shredder" model (it's a 3.5 mm pick).

I'd rather have a more percussive than a tonal muted sound. Do you have a special technique to avoid harmonics, maybe mute the strings with the right hand, too?
