  • Hi guys!! Today I recorded a lesson that has been requested many times in my personal board. It’s the song “Muy tarde” by my band “Cirse”. This was the first song from our first album (Bi-polar, 2007) but it is interesting that it was the last song we composed for the album. Our producer told me that we needed a fast and powerfull song in the style of Nirvana or Foo Fighters… so I started to work having that in mind. I wanted to compose something very simple so I started trying with power chords in a very punky way. I think that this is one of few songs that I created from riffs and progresions instead of vocal melodies (which is my most used formula). After some time I got the intro, the verse (with those cuts) and the bridge riff which sounded very in the style of Nirvana.
It took a lot of time to compose most of the songs from the album but this one was composed in a few hours and in a very natural way.
Finally we finished and recorded the song for the album and it has been one of the favourite songs for the people that heard the album. We recorded a video clip for this one and it has been our last song in lots of shows.
I think that this song redefined our style and it has been a starting point to compose our second album.

The song is in F# minor and you’ll find powerchords, inverted 5th powerchords, octaves and some little arrangements. It’s a good lesson for beginners that need to work on powerchords and rhythm guitar.

I used my pod X3 live to record this lesson and my Gibson Les Paul Studio guitar. I used a Vintage Electric Nu twin head, a Marshall Cabinet 1960b and an Ibanez RG520 to record the album version.

    Tempo: 176 bpm

I hope that you'll enjoy the lesson!

    Gabriel.-
