Hi GMC-ers!
In this lesson we will approach a typical 80's thrash riff with a melodic approach. Other riffs similar to these riffs can be heard in the songs of early Testament, Exodus and Slayer.
It's not that easy to combine powerful thrash riffs with melodies, a typical option would be to start with a thrashy riff and follow it by melodic licks. I also tried to build up a song with riffs that are following each other with sence, and not just drop riffs here-and-there.
In this lesson we will use the following techniques:
Riffs
Rhythms
Slides
Scales
Vibrato
For the tight sound, try to use downstrokes as much as you can.
