Full Version: String Gauge For B Standard On 6 String

going to setup one of my guitars 6 string (currently in E std , 10-46 gauge) to B standard or C standard. Anyone got suggestions for the recommended string gauges/brands and tips for the setup ? (fixed bridge). . Thanks

..... or do i really need a 7 string..

.13 to .62 is 'standard' B to B on a baritone guitar.
You can go a little lighter if you like ... 12 - 60 works fine.

*If you're using a standard electric guitar, you will have some intonation problems. Tuning all your strings that low, you really need a longer scale instrument.

Ken is right per usual smile.gif It might be time to trade in a guitar and get a Baritone scale instrument or switch to a 7 string instrument.
