Sounds very familiar, I was saying, "I know it, I know it aaaarrrgghh", it never came to me though.

I haven't heard it before but if I had to guess, I'd say it is very similar to what a European power metal band would play.

So maybe it is similar with a solo from Helloween, Edguy, Avantasia etc

Yes it does sound like it is pure power metal but I am pretty sure the melody is taken from somewhere, because I've seen them do this in the past.
