I'm back with this one. Working on it everyday trying to perfect my bending and vibrato.
Take 5 already but this lesson is worth every second of my practice time.

Full Version: Take 5: Beginner's Corner 21: String Bending
Hey Rhida!
There's indeed improvement and I can definitely hear you getting closer to nailing those pitches correctly, but still, there are notes whose pitches are not yet reached. I think you need to spend some more time practicing this lesson especially against the original recording, so that you may hear the differences in what regards pitch when bending and executing the vibrato.
Try and record against the original and compare the two - it's a great starting point for a thorough comparison.

This lesson is evolving naturally from take to take. Your technique is getting more and more consistent thanks to your hard work at GMC. This take shows that your bending is getting more precise, you are reaching the pitches of most of the bends and you are starting to develop your vibrato technique. These techniques seems to be the easier but they aren't, beginner guitarists use to give them for the end and concentrate on speed and then they realize how important and tricky can be to have a consistent vibrato and bending technique. Just checking some SRV videos can show how much you can do with both techniques.
Regarding your work on this lesson, you are doing it very well, just continue practicing over the original lesson and start working on other lessons based on phrasing that include both techniques.

Hi there, it's good to see you still working hard on your string bending. The time spent will all be worth it !
As the lads say, you sometimes miss the pitch by either being too sharp or too flat sometimes but that's ok - this is a work in progress. String bending does take time to develop. And you're also involving vibrato, which is another technique that requires time to develop. You will get there.
Keep practising it along with your other lessons and maybe give it a couple of weeks and see where you are then ?
