Original lesson: Alternate Picking Workout #2 by Darius Wave

Cosmin Lupu
Hey mate,

Welcome to the REC zone! This was a nice take and I think you nailed it as an ensemble!

You have good timing, articulation and flow, but I would like to point out the fact that you should focus a bit on differentiating the alternate picked parts in which palm muting is involved, from the ones in which the technique is not used. You tend to omit palm muting in some sections in which Darius is using it, so please take a bit of time to watch the lesson and see where the technique comes into play.

Otherwise, I think you have a nice take which would only need this aspect to be complete!

All the best and keep rocking!

This is some good work. You've got alternate picking skills.

As Cosmin said, you don't mute that often so you are leaving yourself open to future problems with string noise. With this mild tone and neck pickup you're ok but if you don't use your picking hand to cover the unwanted strings then you may notice noise issues.

From 0:42 - 0:46 or so, you're playing some wrong notes. It seems you've learned the arpeggio shapes a bit wrong and you're playing 2 extra minor shapes instead of major shapes there.

Apart from those minor points it's solid stuff !

Hi mate! This is a very good take!

I think that your alternate picking technique is very fluently and consistent. Your hands are perfectly synchronized and the notes sound clean and defined. That's not a minor thing! Besides the details that marked my friends Cos and Ben, I can add that there are very little timing issues here and there, nothing very serious but it's there and with a little of concentration it can be fixed.

So be sure to check the palm muted sections (it makes the lower notes sound clearer), those different notes at 00:43 and focus a bit more on timing. You just need to know that we are being very strict with the analysis, your take is very good. wink.gif

Keep on rocking.

Cosm, Gab and Ben pointed pretty much all aspects. Most important are some wrong notes and a few moments where You lost a control over muting (noise under). Aside from this I like Your tone and pretty good timming smile.gif Thx for choosing my lesson smile.gif
