Take 2: Picking Hand Basics, Lesson By Ben Higgins |
|
Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.
The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Original lesson: Picking Hand Basics by Ben Higgins
So here's another attempt! By the way thanks a lot guys for your feedbacks on my last string bending video. Been working a lot on my string bending vibrato technique and it's already better. That means that another take will come soon... Links to previous attempts at this lesson: http://guitarmasterclass.net/guitar_forum/index.php?showtopic=53085 |

Hi again! You are a very hard worker.
I checked this lesson and I can say that I don't notice an improvement regarding rhythm, even the previous take was a bit tighter. I don't know what's the reason, but on this new take you tended to play before of the beat most of the time, maybe you were hurry? But don't worry, just use our old trick of fooling your mind and playing the notes a bit after to go tighter with the rhythm. I can see you tapping with your foot while you play this but it seems that your picking and your foot weren't totally connected. On the other hand, I can say that the sound of your alternate picking is better on this one, the notes sound more defined and the overall playing sounds more confident, I like the way you managed dynamics on this take. Notes sound fuller, and that's a good step forward. So, please keep on practicing this lesson focusing on timing in order to master it. You are on the right track but you don't have to distract from playing the different figures tight. Cheers! -------------------- My lessons
