Take 3: Metal For Rockers!, Lesson By Adrian Figallo |
|
Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.
The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Original lesson: Metal For Rockers! by Adrian Figallo
I spent some quality time with the slow version of the backing track this week, paying particular attention to: - Synchronizing left and right hands - Letting the chords ring as long as possible before moving my hand and minimizing the movement of my left hand - Emphasizing the palm muting, and making sure all the strings of the chord ring on the non-muted chords P.S. I notice I got a couple of comments on take 1 after I posted take 2. Gabriel even posted to take 1 a couple of days after he posted to take 2 :). I'd lock or delete the old takes if I could, but I can't post to this forum. Not a bad take, but you still have to pay attention to your right hand work, you are missing a couple of notes and sometimes you are struggling to make it, specially with the faster parts. Give it a couple of more rounds at a lower tempo and only speed up whe you can really make it at that speed, otherwise you train yourself to play sloppy, and we don't want that.
