Jamest -- Ac/dc Inspired, Lesson by Jonathan Burgos |

Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.
The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

AC/DC Inspired
Lesson by Jonathan Burgos Link to original lesson: here Guitar: PRS Amp: Pod X3 Live DAW: Sonar This was a great lesson to practice vibrato. Angus Young has a very unique and cool sounding vibrato which Jonathan captured perfectly. Another reason I picked this lesson is because of the way it mixes lead and rhythm playing. Even with a 2nd guitarist, that's something that AC/DC does so well. Angus gives his solos a chance to breathe and to let the rhythm guitar shine through. Also, I hadn't seen a 7th chord played that way before ... actually two notes, the 5 and 7 played over the rhythm guitars G5 power chord sounds killer. Throw in a simple tapping lick, and some pinch harmonics, and you've got a great solo/lesson indeed. Thanks Jonathan! Looking at my vid, I can see that my vibrato still needs to get "wider", but I'm starting to get more control. This post has been edited by skennington: Nov 23 2010, 06:25 PM |

It sounds very good! I think you should spend more time on your vibrato. Not only you need to make it wider but also it needs to be stronger and more even. Same goes for bends. Riffing is good, but it also needs to be a bit tighter as well.

Thanks you my friend!! Is a pleasure!! You make a nice work with this lesson. You are a good student. The vibrato is a important element in the expression of the guitarist.
