Mojo Oro - Part 1, Lesson By Muris Varajic |
|
Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.
The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Solid work! This is NOT an easy bit to play and you are on top of it the entire time. Your timing, and hand synch are spot on and you keep pace with the piece and don't rush or lag at any point. You are showing some serious skill in even trying this bit and showing even more skill by nailing it. Well done.
The only thing I would say is, TAKE OFF THAT FRET WRAP. This piece is played up high on the neck, but if it were just a solo in a song, you might need the rest of your frets and might not have time to re adjust your fret wrap. Using one of those is fine, if it's behind the nut. If it's in front of the nut, it's about like using a sock to deaden strings. It is making up for the fact that your palm muting is maybe not quite on part with the rest of your playing. I notice your right hand technique is quite articulate but you don't seem to have a solid mute on your bridge. A piece like this one requires a good mute to preven notes from bleeding together. As you are sitting "side saddle" and not in classical position with your guitar in between your legs, your right hand position is forced to float above the trem rather than be planted on it. Also, you are articulated from the wrist instead of planting the palm and articulating from the thum/first finger. I would say this is something worth looking at as you move forward. However, you really did nail this piece so solid 7 from me! Todd Original lesson: Mojo Oro - Part 1 by Muris Varajic

Hey Mejdi!!
Your work is very impressive here! Your timing is precise, everything sounds clean and your tone is very related to the original lesson. Besides that Fret Wrap thing that Todd said, I would like to add that there is still a bit work to do regarding hands sync. There are some moments, during the fast runs where your hands are not 100% in sync, and this little adjustment will make your fast playing sound even more powerful and clearer. The best way to fix this is to slow down a bit and be sure that both hands are going toghether, and then increase speed gradually focusing on it. Ok mate, this is a great take, I give you a 8. Keep on rocking!! -------------------- My lessons
