Hi GMC, all instructors and Students

I work this lesson since 4 weeks. It's amazing.
There is a lot of difficulty about the timing

I wanted to give up several times, but I kept hard work.

I don' have the Diego's dynamics, but I played with a lot of pleasure.

A few weeks furthermore would maybe have been useful to restore this lesson but I want to work my other lessons.

Hi Manu, this is very impressive work.

You tackle the dexterity of the lines very well and I think this is probably the smoothest we've seen you play when it comes to fast runs with alternate picking. You've definitely made considerable improvements in this area.

The tone is really tasteful, silky smooth.

You mentioned about dynamics. I don't think anybody, including us, would be able to play that piece like Diego plays it because it's so full of nuances and he's an incredibly dynamic player.

However, yes I agree. If I could sum it up I would say yours sounds softer overall whereas Diego digs in and gets harder edges out of his performance. There's a bit more toughness in the staccato parts which helps create a dual opposite nature with the softer lines that use pull-offs. If you can achieve a bit more hardness by using more 'raking' techniques that will also add some 'grit' to your playing.

Hey there!

I wouldn't liek to copy guys opinion so I'll just try to refer to your dynamics thing. Actually there are two things you can do to try to squeeze even more dynamics, and it's not necessary the playing which is really nice. You maybe not be 100% precise at some runs (it keeps the feeling that maybe the pick at some points is not in perfect sync with your left hand) yet this is a very good performance with good translation of emotional part of the lesson. There are noe serious issues here.

Let's get back to dynamics...
Less compression more distortion....essentially that's how Diego set up his tone.
The compression in his take is almost invisible. It's probably more the compression of fully mastered track, than a compressor on the guitar track itself. He also uses tiny amoutn of distortion - just as much, as necessary to make the tone break through once hit hard. Little amount of distortion is even to little amount of compression that distortion does by itself.

My tip for setting the tone is to actually use distorted tone but to set the gain refering to softest notes you play. While you softly touch the string you should hear a clean tone. Once you hit hard you hear crunch kind of drive. That's the way to get closer to his tonal and dynamics results
