Rare are those who make it to stardom, as opposed to millions of others who don't. But at the end of the day, they have to make a living right?

It seems you haven't filled the bar in relation to the time signature, or you filled it too much. You can do this automatically by clicking on Tools>Complete/Reduce Bars with Rests for filling (or just move the excess notes in the next bar in case you have spare).

let us know if it worked. In some cases guitar pro (v.5) won't automatically fill n-tuplets, so you need to count it off.

OK guys, today we are having pure rock'n'roll video chat, with this program:

- warmup in pentatonic boxes 1 and 2
- double stop lick variations
- bending lick variations

As before we will practice over backing tracks, and we will learn the licks on the go. After the chat we will have them all logged for future reference.

Here are two boxes that we will use! smile.gif

Here's a countdown to the chat! smile.gif See you there! smile.gif

This is the top of the top of auditions, so it's definitely valuable experience. It shows some excellent upsides, but downsides of the industry too.

QUOTE (Gabriel Leopardi @ Mar 2 2012, 02:32 PM) *
Thanks Ivan! That's why I posted it here! I want all of you to be very strict with the feedback. I can't really understand what you exactly mean by "Dry". Is it about fx? Is is that you find is boring?

I would put a bit more space, and more bends/vibratos in, and I think it rocks, it's not boring at all.

Sounds great man, you sure spiced it up with some awesome playing, and I really like the themes. Ben gave a nice suggestion, I think I can relate to it, and recommend a bit more expressiveness. When the slower part starts maybe a bit more bends, vibratos, and a bit softer tone. It's a bit "dry" if I dare to say it ph34r.gif I understand this may be a bit harsh thing to say, I hope I won't offend you in any way. This take can easily be the winner, you are master of guitar and it would be really satisfying for me to play some of those licks. Your vision is what counts in the end, we are just observers.

Congratulations man, that's a great step! smile.gif If I may ask, what took you to get there? Is is about the view counts or sum of different things.

I went through lots of stomps, here is the most recent configuration I used, Malekko Echo 300B, OCD, Boss Switcher, Dod FX25 envelope filter, Dunlop 535Q wah. I sold them all out tho. Today, all I need is tubescreamer, wah and maybe a delay, but I don't have it atm.

It depends from band to band, usually when band is more experienced, they hardly have problems of some members falling behind tempo. Experienced band works as a team, if they rush, they all rush, if they lean back, they all lean back. In general, rhythm section is providing the tempo, although a lead player can sometimes push things if needed. It requires experience tho, and many gigs played. And yes, on stage it's usually faster, but it requires measure/taste (experience)

So many licks and riffs and solos have been played, I don't believe these guys steal intentional like that. It's a coincidence IMO smile.gif

I really recommend that you buy all the MIDI packs from Toontrack. They are cheap, and very good!

Be patient, new gear will come. Important thing is that you know your current gear limits and that you feel comfortable with it. If you have the choice - try new gear as much as possible. It's much easier to buy once you know how 6-7 of the great guitar amps sound: Marshall, Fender, Vox, Mesa, Peavey, Randall, Blackstar. All brands should be tested out.

Welcome aboard man, glad you joined.

Regarding your rhythm problem, don't worry so much, have fun playing. I also advise method where you actually play up & down ALL the time, but you strum only when needed (DDUUDU). It's much better to play like that, so you create a steady rhythm hand.

First gig in 2006, something like that. I was 23 at a time, it was 300KM from our hometown, and it was in some poor club, where we played RHCP songs. It would be great to have video from that gig, since I jumped around.
