Original lesson: Alternate Picking 2 by Darius Wave

Hello GMC, After 11 months working my way trough this lesson, starting from 80bpm till 160bpm, I have reached the summit with a beautiful view ;) It has been a long and hard journey because It's is a hard lesson to learn but the satisfaction is big when you finish lessons like this. Again many thanks to Monica who has been my mentor and provided me with very necessary guidance because I think it's impossible to make this journey alone. I proudly present my REC take... Hope you enjoy it! Gert

Hi Gert!

Excellent work! Your progress is amazing! We have spent a lot of time working on this lesson and I'm very proud of you.

I won't post a detailed feedback here since we already discussed about this take in your thread and our messages. I just want to congrats you on the fact that you managed to execute a lot of details that we have worked on. Of course, your vibrato at a faster tempo needs a little more work to make it shine, but this will come with time and practice. Being a level 3 picking workout, I will not put so much accent on vibrato.

Congrats once again and keep on rocking! You get an 8 from me. smile.gif

Wow this is quite an achievement Gert! 🤩 If anybody missed it, Gert and Monica has been working on hard on alternate picking in this thread.

And as you will be able to tell as well, progress has been spectacular! Under Monica's guidance Gert has been practicing within his comfort speed from scratch:

..and we can now see the result.

Gert, the technique you display here is precise, reliable and efficient. It will serve you well regardless of where your musical adventure leads you. Congratulations!

I agree that vibrato could be a little more consistent - but you are still very close to the type of vibrato Darius uses in the lesson.

I can also see that during transition to the more complex licks or the sustained notes, your picking technique gets less precise. That's natural since your picking is not yet completely engraved into muscle memory - so your perfomance will be negatively affected by 'multi-tasking'.

Keep up the amazing work - it's a 9 from me!
